I often get asked “what escape rooms are suitable to play with my young kids” and so I realised it is time to collate all the family friendly rooms in Sydney. In order to come up with this list, I took into consideration difficulty level and theming.
So here goes:

Paris Escape, Social Escape
Whilst this escape room is based on the real-life nightmare of losing your passport, this escape room is far from scary! A calm and beautifully themed room, this room is directed but not too easy. I would say the perfect room to start a family escape room holiday tradition.
The Wizard Chambers, Scram
Located in Paramatta, this room is inspired by the much-loved Harry Potter series so there is lots to love about this room. There is nothing scary about this room however it is pretty tricky so be sure to ask for hints when you need them!
Ex Libris, Next Level Escape
Like the Wizard Chambers, Ex Libris takes some inspiration from classic novels such as Harry Potter. This room has three stages to suit different experience levels so it is great for all levels of escape artists!
Espionage, The Cipher Room
I have heard this room is a hit for kids parties so I can only assume it would be great for families too! I have played this room and loved it although I found it quite dark and tricky so I wouldn’t suggest this room for very young players.
In Memorium & Dr Disaster, Enigma
These rooms are thoroughly enjoyable without being too hard. Both themes are family friendly and are not scary. I personally prefer In Memorium due to its beautiful theming but both rooms have really unique puzzles that really impressed me!
Bank Heist, Social Escape
This is a controversial suggestion as it is considered one of the hardest rooms in Sydney, however, it can be made more suitable for families if you so desire. This room is a whole lot of fun and could be an exciting adventure for your family!
Vampire Castle, Mission
This room could be considered scary due to its vampire theme, however, there isn’t anything particularly scary about the room. I think this room is easy and fun enough (whilst obviously not being easy) for a family to enjoy.
